Sunday’s Key Games: 4th October

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United welcome Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Manchester United saw off Brighton and Hove Albion in the League Cup during the week.

Tottenham had a busy week with a game on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup against Chelsea, which they won on penalties and a game on Thursday in the Europa League play-offs which they won 7-2 against Maccabi Haifa.

Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes are expected to be available after missing the League Cup against Brighton and Hove Albion with slight knocks. Eric Bailly impressed during the week and may be pushing for a space in the starting 11. Donny Van de Beek is expected to drop back to the bench.

Son Heung-Min was initially ruled out until after the international break but could have an outside chance of being involved on Sunday. Gareth Bale only started to train outside this week and is expected to make his second debut for Tottenham after the international break. Sergio Reguilon could make his Premier League debut after playing in the League Cup against Chelsea and in the Europa League against Maccabi Haifa. Giovanni Lo Celso is a doubt after picking up a slight injury in the Europa League on Thursday night. Carlos Vinicius signed on a season long loan from Benfica on Friday but has not signed in time to be available against Manchester United.

The teams last met in June, when the game finished in a 1-1 draw.

Manchester United have won one of their opening two games, with a 3-2 win against Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend. They lost their opening game of the season 3-1 to Crystal Palace.

Tottenham have won one of their opening three league games. They beat Southampton 5-2, lost against Everton 1-0 and drew last weekend against Newcastle 1-1.

Manchester United will be looking for their second league win to get them up the table, while Jose Mourinho, will be looking to take all three points against his former side.

Lyon v Marseille

Lyon play Marseille in a game that is know as Choc des Olympiques, which translates as the Clash of the Olympics. The match involves two of the most successful teams in France, with Lyon having won Ligue 1 seven times and Marseille having won Ligue 1 nine times.

Jeff Reine-Adélaïde is a doubt with a calf injury, but apart from Reine-Adélaïde, Rudi Garcia has a full squad of players available.

Jordan Amavi is available after retuning from suspension. Bouna Sarr is a doubt for the game after missing the draw with Metz last weekend.

The last meeting between the two sides was in the Coupe De France in February when Lyon won 1-0.

Lyon have six points from their opening five games with one win, three draws and a loss. They beat Dijon 4-1 in the opening game of the season. They have drawn against Lorient, Nimes and Bordeaux and have lost to Montpellier.

Marseille have seven points from their first five games. They have won two games, drawn two and lost one. They have beat Brest in their first game of the season 3-2 and they have also beat PSG 1-0. They drew against Lille and Metz and lost against St Etienne.

Both sides will be looking for wins to move themselves up the table.

Lazio v Inter

On Sunday afternoon, Lazio welcome Inter, in a game that sees last season’s fourth place side go up against last seasons Serie A’s runners up.

Bastos looks likely to come in for Stefan Radu. Andreas Pereira has signed on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United, but is unlikely to face Inter.

Alessandro Bastoni is expected to start in defence after being rested during the week, with Lautaro Martinez also set to start after only featuring during the week, when he came on in the 65th minute.

The last meeting between the two sides was in February when Lazio won 2-1.

Lazio have won one of their opening two league games. They won their opening league game against Cagliari 2-0. They lost during the week 4-1 to Atalanta.

Inter have won both of their opening league games. They won their opening league game 4-3 against Fiorentina and won during the week against Benevento 5-2.

Lazio will be looking for a win to move them up the table, while Inter will look to continue their good start to the season.

Juventus v Napoli

Champions Juventus welcome Napoli to Turin for a Sunday night kick off.

Mattihijs de Ligt and Alex Sandro are both out injured. Federico Bernardeschi is also out injured for Juventus. Adrien Rabiot is also out due to suspension after he was sent-off last weekend against Roma.

Pietr Zielinski is out for Napoli after he tested positive for COVID-19. Napoli are also without Lorenzo Insigne after he got injured last weekend against Genoa.

The last game between the two was in June in the Coppa Italia final, which Napoli won on penalties.

Juventus won one of their opening two games. They beat Sampdoria 3-0 in their first game of the season, then they draw against Roma last weekend, 2-2.

Napoli won their opening two league games. They won their opening league game against Parma 2-0 and beat Genoa 6-0 last weekend.

Juventus will be looking for a home win, while Napoli will want to show they can challenge the best in Serie A.

Barcelona v Sevilla

Barcelona welcome Sevilla to the Camp Nou on Sunday night.

Clement Lenglet will be suspended for Barcelona after he was sent off against Celta Vigo on Thursday. Ronald Aruajo will likely come into the centre of defence alongside Gerard Pique, who also is expected to be fit despite picking up a knock during the week.

Sevilla will likely choose Youssef En-Nesyri up front instead of Luuk De Jong, after En-Nesyri scored a last-minute winner during the week. Marcos Acuna is likely to be chosen to play left-back instead of Sergio Escudero.

The last game between the two finished 0-0 in June.

Barcelona won their opening two league games. They won against Villareal in their first game of the season, 4-0. They won during the week against Celta Vigo, 3-0.

Sevilla won their opening two league games. They won against Cadiz 3-1 in their first game of the season. They won during the week against Levante 1-0

Both sides will be looking to continue their good starts to the season.
