UCL: Paris Saint-Germain v Manchester City Preview
Manchester City will travel to the Parc des Princes to face PSG in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.
PSG saw off Barcelona in the last 16 with a 5-2 aggregate victory. In the quarter-final PSG managed to get past Bayern Munich after going through on away goals with the aggregate score 3-3.
Manchester City’s path to the semi-final has involved a 4-0 aggregate win over Borussia Möchengladbach and then a 4-2 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund in the quarter final.
PSG should have Kylian Mbappe available even though the Frenchman was forced off at Metz at the weekend. His injury is not believed to be serious. Marquinhos, Abdou Diallo and Rafinha are all believed to be available for the game. Juan Bernat is out injured and will not be available.
Manchester City could see John Stones return to the centre of defence. Stones missed the cup final on Sunday due to suspension and Guardiola will have to decide whether Laporte or Stones partner Ruben Dias in central defence. Ederson will also come in to replace Zack Steffen.
The two sides have met three times competitively. They drew 0-0 in a UEFA Cup group match in 2008. In 2016, they met in the quarter finals of the Champions League with Manchester City winning 3-2 on aggregate.
This game will be fascinating to watch, with Manchester City being regarded as potentially the best in Europe now, against a PSG side who are always dangerous with the likes of Verratti, Mbappe and Neymar.
